Haban Court in Veľké Leváre
The Habans, also known as Anabaptists, arrived in what is now Slovakia around the middle of the 16th century. They settled in Veľké Leváre in 1588.
They were skilled craftspeople, particularly renowned for their ceramics. At the height of its development, their community had more than 40 houses, its own mill, brewery, public bath, school, chapel and craft workshops.
